Celebration Jamaica and Harmony Cove to Break Ground on Casino Resorts by Summer
Construction work on exactly what will be Jamaica’s first integrated casino resort is likely to start in 2016, local news reported. Celebration Jamaica Resort & Casino will feature 2,000 rooms in hotels, a casino, in addition to a true number of activity and food and drink choices.
The complex will occupy a 75-acre parcel of land positioned in Rose Hill, into the Montego Bay region. The project will be rolled away in a number of phases. The amount of $500 million is expected to be allocated to the conclusion of Phase 1.
At first, the resort will offer 1,000 resort rooms, with 1,000 more to be added later on. And as mentioned previously, it will also feature a 100,000-square-foot gambling venue with casino games and recreations wagering options, retail area, a Caribbean World Music Entertainment Complex, and many other amenities.
Businessman Robert Trotta, who is behind the multi-million-dollar project, explained that the integrated resort will aim at celebrating Jamaican music and every thing Jamaican. The complex that is whole expected to cost $1.8 billion and once fully operational, it shall employ around 12,000 people directly. No conclusion date has been established yet for Jamaica’s first resort that is integrated.
This past year, Jamaica officials authorized the development of two such resorts that are integrated Jamaica and Harmony Cove. Construction regarding the latter is also likely to begin by the summertime of 2016.
